TAKEAWAY OPTIONS WHEN STAYING AT PITT FARM
You’re on holiday, so why not treat yourselves to a takeaway…
We have a selection of menus in the cottages, but we thought we’d let you know the ones we use personally (don’t judge us!).
Indian

Maha Bharat is a multi-award-winning Indian restaurant, that regularly delivers to Pitt Farm. We love the Chicken Tikka Biryani, the Paneer Shashlik and the Lamb Methi. Delivery to Pitt Farm takes between around 30 mins and 90 mins (it gets very busy at weekends in the summer), but you can always drive the 10 minutes to Kingsbridge to collect if they are particularly busy.
Thai
A bit of planning is needed for Kid Hod Thai, but its certainly worth it. Takeaway only and working from a very small industrial unit in Kingsbridge, the food is authentic and fantastic. You need to order in advance by email or SMS (have a look at their Facebook page for more details) and then agree a collection time. We can help you with directions if you’re planning to order because the first time you visit you might not be sure you’re in the right place (but try what3words “guideline.full.tight.”) The menu changes monthly but staples like the Thai dumplings, Pad Thai, Green Curry and Stir Fry Chicken with Cashew Nuts keep us coming back for more.
Chinese

Café Asia is a Chinese and South East Asian restaurant that will happily deliver to Pitt Farm. We recommend the crispy won ton, the Emperors Delight (crispy duck with pancakes), the Singapore noodles and the sweet and sour pork Hong Kong style. Delivery is usually within the hour (but at busy times it can be better to drive the 10 minutes to collect). Café Asia is closed on Mondays.
Fish and Chips
Torcross Boathouse or The Start Bay Inn (both in Torcross TQ7 2TQ)
Two completely separate places but both fantastic for fish and chips (and next door to each other). Take-away and bring back to your cottage in around 15 mins drive but better still, if the sun is shining, eat on the shingly beach (no sand in your chips) around 20 seconds walk from either of the hatches. Delicious.

Restaurant Twenty Seven by Jamie Rogers
Twenty Seven (also featured in our Fine Dining List, is a fantastic restaurant in Kingbridge producing food of the highest quality. Better still is that Jamie and the team embraced the pandemic to expand into takeaway. You can take it from us that the food is exceptional and every bit as good as the restaurant. It comes ready to eat, beautifully and cleverly presented and is sure to impress.
